Equipment

  • 1 9" x 13" baking dish or pan

Ingredients

  • 1 box white cake mix yes, the boxed stuff – we’re keeping it easy!
  • 2 15-ounce cans mandarin oranges drained (these little guys are doing all the work)
  • 1/2 cup orange juice concentrate thawed (no, don’t drink it yet)
  • 1/2 cup butter melted (let’s get buttery, baby)
  • - Zest of one orange for a little zesty flair

Instructions

  • First things first, preheat that oven to 350°F (175°C). We’re gonna need some heat to work this magic!
  • Grab your trusty 9x13-inch baking dish and give it a good greasing. No sticking allowed!
  • Toss those mandarin oranges in, spreading them evenly across the dish. They’re our juicy foundation.
  • Next, pour the orange juice concentrate over the oranges. No need to be neat about it.
  • Sprinkle the dry cake mix right on top of the fruit. This is where the magic happens (with minimal effort, of course).
  • Drizzle the melted butter all over the cake mix. It might not look pretty now, but trust me, it’ll bake up golden and glorious.
  • Finally, sprinkle the orange zest on top for that extra citrusy kick.
  • Pop it in the oven for 45-50 minutes until it’s golden and bubbly. Your kitchen will smell like summer sunshine!
