Equipment

  • 1 9" x 13" baking dish or pan

Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup Kahlua or your favorite coffee liqueur
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee cooled
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish—because no one wants to chisel cake out of a pan.
  • Pour the coffee and Kahlua into the dish and stir together. Don’t you just love the smell of coffee?
  • Sprinkle the mini chocolate chips evenly over the coffee mixture.
  • Spread the cake mix evenly over the chocolate chips—this is going to be gooood.
  • Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, making sure it’s all covered.
  • Sprinkle the sugar over the top for a little extra sweetness.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes until the top is set and your kitchen smells like a coffee shop. Serve warm, maybe with an extra splash of Kahlua on the side.
