Ingredients
  

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 14-ounce package Fig Newton cookies chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts optional
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup melted butter

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Spread the chopped Fig Newtons evenly in the bottom of the dish.
  • In a bowl, mix the brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped walnuts, then sprinkle this over the Fig Newtons.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Pour this mixture evenly over the cookies.
  • Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the top.
  • Drizzle the melted butter across the cake mix, making sure to coat as much as possible.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
  • Let it cool slightly before serving. Best enjoyed warm with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
