Equipment

  • 1 9" x 13" baking dish or pan
  • 1 mixing bowl

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe bananas sliced (Bonus: they're probably already on the counter begging to be used)
  • 1 box banana cake mix lazy hack for maximum flavor, minimal effort
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts fancy crunch, darling
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup melted butter because butter makes everything better
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or as I call it, “liquid gold”

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Get the oven ready for its starring role.
  • Lay those banana slices down in a 9x13 inch baking dish like you mean it.
  • In a bowl, mix the cake mix, walnuts, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until it looks good enough to eat. (But don't. Yet.)
  • Pour the magic mixture over your bananas. Spread it out like you're icing the cake of life.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes or until it’s golden brown and smelling like breakfast dreams.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes. Resist the urge to dive in face-first.
