Diva's Elegant Enhancements

Add a Cream Cheese Layer

Ingredients:

1 (8-ounce) package of cream cheese (softened),

1/2 cup granulated sugar,

1 egg.

Instructions:

Before adding the peaches, beat the cream cheese, sugar, and egg together until smooth. Spread this mixture evenly in the baking dish, then add the peaches, cake mix, and butter as usual. This adds a creamy, tangy layer that complements the sweetness of the peaches.

Use Spice Cake Mix and Add Nutmeg

Ingredients:

Substitute the yellow cake mix with a spice cake mix, add 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg.

Instructions:

Follow the original recipe, but use spice cake mix instead of yellow cake mix and sprinkle the nutmeg over the peaches before adding the cake mix. The spice cake mix and nutmeg add warm, autumnal flavors that pair beautifully with the peaches.

Incorporate Berries and Lemon Zest

Ingredients:

1 cup fresh or frozen raspberries, blueberries, or blackberries;

zest of 1 lemon.

Instructions:

Mix the berries and lemon zest with the peaches before spreading them in the baking dish. Continue with the rest of the recipe as usual. The berries add a burst of color and tartness, while the lemon zest enhances the overall flavor with a citrusy brightness.

Garnish: Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream, and a mint leaf for a pop of color.
