Diva's Gourmet Touch

Give your perfect dessert a gourmet touch with one of these tweaks:

1. Add Lemon Zest and Juice

Ingredients:

-Zest of 1 lemon,

-juice of 1 lemon.

Instructions:

Mix the lemon zest and juice with the blueberry pie filling before spreading it in the baking dish.

This adds a fresh, citrusy flavor that brightens up the dessert and pairs wonderfully with the sweetness of the blueberries.

You can also add a bit of lemon zest to the cake mix for an extra zesty kick.

2. Use Vanilla Cake Mix and Add Cream Cheese

Ingredients:

-Substitute the yellow cake mix with a vanilla cake mix,

-1 (8-ounce) package of cream cheese (softened),

-1/2 cup granulated sugar,

-1 egg.

Instructions:

  1. Beat the cream cheese, sugar, and egg together until smooth.
  2. After spreading the blueberry and pineapple mixture, dollop the cream cheese mixture on top and swirl it slightly before adding the cake mix.

This adds a creamy, tangy layer that complements the fruit and adds richness to the cake.

3. Incorporate Fresh Mint and Toasted Almonds

Ingredients:

-2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint,

-1/2 cup sliced almonds (toasted).

Instructions:

  1. Mix the chopped fresh mint with the blueberry pie filling before spreading it in the baking dish.
  2. Sprinkle the toasted sliced almonds on top of the cake mix before baking. The fresh mint adds a unique, refreshing flavor, and the toasted almonds add a delightful crunch and nutty flavor to the cake.

These variations will add new flavors and textures to the classic blueberry dump cake, making it a standout dessert for your special occasion.

Presentation Suggestion:

Garnish: Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, and a few fresh blueberries on top.

With just a few minutes of work, you can present your family and friends with this delicious dessert.
