Equipment

  • 1 9" x 13" baking dish or pan
  • 2 mixing bowls

Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate fudge cake mix
  • 1 21-ounce can 21 oz can cherry pie filling
  • 1 cup Kahlúa coffee liqueur
  • ¼ cup vodka
  • 1 3.9-ounce box instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Spread the cherry pie filling evenly across the bottom of the dish.
  • Mix the booze: In a bowl, whisk together the Kahlúa and vodka, then pour it evenly over the cherry layer.
  • Prepare the pudding: In another bowl, whisk together the chocolate pudding mix and milk until slightly thickened. Spread it over the cherry and booze layers.
  • Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over everything—no stirring!
  • Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix, making sure most of the surface is covered.
  • Scatter the chocolate chips on top because there’s no such thing as too much chocolate.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes until the top is set and slightly crisp.
  • Let it cool slightly before serving with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
