My name is Cheryl Risner. I am a writer, publisher, artist, and baker.
After many classes – and much practice – I became a pretty good amateur cake decorator. I took great pride in creating beautiful cakes for special occasions, and I even made a few wedding cakes for friends and family.
But creating pretty cakes was time-consuming (and stressful). And sometimes I had to sacrifice taste to get the desired effect.
And my kitchen was always looked like a war zone! I sort of felt like I was letting myself – and everyone else – down.
Eventually, I’d had enough of the stress and mess.
I decided to get a new perspective.
So when I needed to take a dessert to an office party, potluck dinner or family reunion, dump cakes became my go-to favorite.
And they were always a hit!
I always got lots of compliments and requests for my recipes … and I always went home with an empty pan.
